When website redesign makes more sense than incremental fixes
Most local business websites were built 5 to 10 years ago on platforms that are now expensive to maintain, slow to load, impossible to update without a developer, and hostile to mobile users. At a certain point, fixing them costs more than rebuilding them from scratch with a modern stack.
Signs it is time to redesign: your site is built on a CMS you can no longer log into, your phone shows broken layout on mobile, you have not updated content in over 6 months because it is too painful, you have no analytics or your analytics show 70 percent bounce rate, your conversion rate is below 1 percent. If any of these are true, redesign is the highest-leverage investment you can make.
What is included in our redesign engagement
- Discovery session and brand alignment: target customer, key services, conversion goals, brand voice
- Sitemap and wireframes for every page
- Visual design in Figma: home, services pages, about, contact, mobile-first
- Modern stack development: React + Vite, Astro, or modern WordPress with Bricks or Breakdance
- Conversion-optimized layouts: hero with single clear CTA, social proof above the fold, trust signals, optimized forms
- SEO foundation from day one: semantic HTML, complete schema markup, sitemap.xml, robots.txt allowing all major search and AI crawlers
- AI-ready architecture: structured data on every page, FAQ sections, entity clarity, citation-friendly content
- Core Web Vitals in the green out of the gate: green LCP, CLS, INP
- Form tracking: Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, conversion events wired
- Content migration from the old site
- Cross-browser and cross-device QA before launch
- Thirty days of post-launch monitoring and tweaks
Expected outcomes from a redesign
- Conversion rate up 2x to 3x compared to the previous site
- Lighthouse scores: 90+ across Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, SEO
- Mobile bounce rate cut in half
- Google rankings improve as the new site is indexed (typically 30 to 60 days)
- AI citation share starts within 60 to 90 days due to clean schema and structured content
Frequently asked questions
How long does a website redesign take?
Four to eight weeks depending on scope. A 5 to 8 page service business website typically takes 5 to 6 weeks: 1 to 2 weeks discovery and design, 2 to 3 weeks development, 1 week QA and launch.
Do you keep the same domain and content URLs?
Yes whenever possible. We map every old URL to its new equivalent and set up 301 redirects to preserve search ranking and avoid 404 errors. We never strip out content that is already ranking.
What CMS do you build on?
For most service businesses we build on either React with Vite (deployed to Vercel, Netlify or Hostinger) or modern WordPress with Bricks or Breakdance. The choice depends on how often the client needs to update content themselves and what integrations matter (CRM, scheduling, payment).
Do you provide ongoing maintenance after launch?
Yes. Maintenance is included in our monthly Local SEO or Complete Growth Package. Standalone monthly maintenance for a redesigned site we built is also available.
